In relation to community projects at school, many people hold that students should focus on their academic subjects so as to get good grades. However, in my opinion, students should participate in a community project in that it will benefit students in various ways.

Undeniably, community projects will be helpful for society and environment. For these projects, current social or environmental problems are the most noticed. Thus, students are likely to organize so much volunteer work that deals with such problems, contributing to improve humans’ life and activities. For instance, green summer is a community project that brings about a host of benefits for society. In this project, students will engage in building new house or new road, holding cleanup activities and doing tutoring for people in remote areas. These tasks certainly substantially help to make the people’s life better.

There’s more, from community projects, student life will be further by beautiful memories. Instead of letting their life boringly go by with the days of burying in books, students can participate in community projects. In such projects, students have chances to visit many new lands and enjoy grouping life with other students, living and working together. These strange but interesting experiences will leave the students unforgettable memories. Take myself as an example, I engaged in green summer project in my first year of college and it left me a memorable experience. It was the first time I do as a teacher teaching for many children. The sense of step by step instructing my students how to read and write, receiving warm emotion from them and their families makes me never forget. Until now, I still keep all of little presents my students gave me when we were separated.

Speaking of studying, students will learn a lot when joining community projects. Community projects teach students what they are never taught in school. Via these projects, students will go to many places, meet and stay with a lot of new friends. Hence, they will learn the way to adapt to new environment and to get along well with others or equip themselves with living and working skills such as working in a group and operating an activity. Consequently, with what the students have been taken from community projects, they will be more mature and more confident in any activities later.
In conclusion, barely do community projects distract students from their academic study, but they will enrich students’ knowledge, living experience and memorable memories left. Therefore, students should take part in such living activities to make their life really worth living.
