Do you want a loving marriage or an arrangement marriage?
Give reasons and details to support your answer.

Sample essay 1:

When it comes to marriage; the most important choice in a life, there is still a controversial whether we should follow an arranged marriage or a love marriage. Some people think that arranged marriage is safe and more reliable than love. Parents always want the best for us and they have more experiences than us. As the result, they will choose the best suitable husband or wife for us. However, from my perspective, I definitely prefer love marriage for some reasons as follows.
As a matter of fact, no one knows me better than me. How can anyone but myself know what I really love? How can anyone but myself understand what will make me feel touching, peace, trust, unquestionable care and a shared sense of values? Nobody can choose the one who will become the partner of my whole life except me. Moreover, if I place someone else’s advice above my own desires, won’t I always have some kind of what-if-feeling? “What if I make my own decision? What if I had chosen the man I love instead of the man whom everybody think is best for me? Wouldn’t I be happier and more satisfied?”
In addition, I must be the one who have responsibility for my life, not my parent or anyone else. I have right to choose what to do, where to go, whom I would like to make friend with. So, why can’t I choose my partner of life – the most significant choice in my life? Then, if anything goes wrong, it is me to blame, not my parent or the matchmaker or someone else. This point of view will help me not only to become more responsible for my life but also to be more independent. I do not have to expect from other’s advices. I do not hesitate when love knock the door of my heart. I am going to be decisive and do not miss any opportunity for the pursuit of happiness.
Personally speaking, I am an adventurous person. Therefore, an arranged marriage; a marriage come from an arrangement of the two families that have known each other, is so boring for me to follow. I value the nervous feeling when I have a date with a person I don’t know. It’s a beautiful surprise when we figure out our familiar hobbies or habits. Isn’t it interesting when we get to know one another slowly and intently rather than have already known about each other by hearing from other’s opinion? Additionally, safe does not mean peace, knowing each other well does not mean understanding and satisfied does not mean happy. Hence, an arranged marriage can help you come up with more safe and satisfied marriage but no one can ensure that you will be happy with your marriage life.
In conclusion, a marriage based on a love that my partner and I have created together before we decide to marry is favorable for me because it not only help me to become more mature and determined but it also worth to take risk. I will have a chance to develop my love from a big love into a bigger one ever.

Sample essay 2:

In one statistical, in Western society where loving marriages dominate, many divorces take place. In contrast, in Eastern society where arrange marriages occur more frequently, the rate of the divorces is low. Even so, I am in favor of a loving marriage due to reasons below.
For the first, it may be unnatural to have an arrangement marriage. In the animal kingdom, when becoming mature, each beast must leave its flock to find its partners. Whether “love” exists in the beast, the best still chooses and creates its own family. Definitely, there is no any arrangement of its parent for the choice. However, in the mankind society, many persons still depends on their family to arrange their own family. It is so surprise when one human denied his/her natural right to find partners and also to experience the feeling of love.
What’s more, a marriage is one of the most important decisions in life because, surpassing all other decisions, a marriage decision is a certification to prove one person becomes a full adult. An adult is a person who can give his/her own decisions for every matter and has responsible for its consequences. More than anything, a marriage requires a strong commitment and duties. If someone depends on his/her family or marriage markers to arrange a family, he/she can blame these persons for failures in his/her marriage life. In this case, people must avoid an arrangement marriage so that they can accept their failures without blaming for other persons in order to be better in next time. The true happiness will come to persons who stand up more strongly after each failure.
Last but least, love is not only factor to have a happy marriage, but any happy marriage contains love inside. A marriage is a combination of two persons who have different backgrounds. During the marriage, many issues can occur and require each person must to change himself/herself to fit with other one. Changing a personal characteristic or giving up a hobbit requires a great endeavor; definitely, people can not win themselves to become new ones without the helps of a passion love. Moreover, in a happy family, children can grow up well with cares of both their father and mother. Nevertheless, when their parents do not have love means they will not care for other person and can not unify in ways to raise a child, totally, this environment can not be a good one for children to grow up.
In a nutshell, I am in favor of a loving marriage. In reality, the divorce rate for this kind of marriages is high. However, the long-last marriage does not mean a happy marriage. In a long marriage, people can live with other for many reasons such as honors, financial or political reasons or children, etc. Nevertheless, in a loving marriage, when love between two people becomes fade, they will make a divorce so that each person can find a happier life, but when they still together, they truly love each other and this is the marriage I really want to have it for my life.
